Copper Wire Recycling Machine Overview

The MAXIM copper wire recycling machine is designed to process mixed scrap wires and cables that are difficult or inefficient to handle with conventional wire stripping equipment. Suitable materials include automotive electrical wires, motorcycle wiring, household wires, power cables, communication cables, signal cables, and other copper-containing insulated cables.

Also known as a copper cable granulator, the machine reduces scrap cables through shredding and granulation before separating copper from plastic by airflow gravity sorting and vibration screening. This dry separation process does not require process water.

Under suitable material and operating conditions, the copper recovery rate can reach up to 99%. The appropriate cable recycling machine configuration depends on cable type, conductor diameter, insulation composition, copper content, required capacity, and target separation quality.

How the Copper Wire Recycling Machine Works

1.Scrap Cable Feeding and Primary Shredding
Scrap wires and cables are fed into the electric wire shredder, which cuts the material into pieces approximately 10–20 mm long. This primary cable shredding stage prepares mixed cables for stable feeding and fine granulation.

2. Fine Wire Granulation
A conveyor transfers the shredded cable pieces to the wire granulator machine. The granulator reduces the material into approximately 3–8 mm copper and plastic particles, helping release the conductor from the insulation.

3. Copper and Plastic Separation
The mixed particles enter an airflow gravity separator and vibration screening system. Differences in density, weight, and movement allow copper granules to be separated from lightweight plastic particles.

4. Separate Product Discharge
Copper granules and plastic particles leave the cable recycling machine through separate discharge outlets. The recovered materials can then be collected for downstream recycling or further processing.

5. Integrated Dust Collection
Dust generated during wire shredding, cable granulation, and material separation is collected through air ducts by a pulse dust collection system, helping maintain a cleaner processing environment.

Key Features of the Copper Wire Recycling Machine

1. Copper Recovery Rate up to 99%
The combined airflow gravity sorting and vibration screening system can achieve a copper recovery rate of up to 99% when the feed cable is suitable and the machine is correctly adjusted.

2. Dry Copper and Plastic Separation
The copper cable granulator uses airflow and vibration rather than washing to separate copper from plastic, so process water is not required during separation.

3. Processing Capacities up to 1,000 kg/h
Four machine models cover projects from small cable recycling operations to higher-capacity industrial production, with rated capacities from 100–150 kg/h to 800–1,000 kg/h.

4. Integrated Cable Shredding and Granulation
The complete wire recycling system combines an electric wire shredder, conveyor, wire granulator machine, airflow separator, vibration screen, and dust collector.

5. PLC-Controlled System Operation
The PLC control system coordinates cable feeding, shredding, conveying, granulation, separation, and dust collection for stable equipment operation.

6. Reduced Manual Material Handling
One-time manual feeding can be combined with automatic conveying, granulation, separation, and product discharge, reducing repeated handling between processing stages.

7. Pulse Dust Collection
The integrated dust collector captures airborne particles generated during cable shredding and granulation, supporting cleaner production conditions.

8. Customizable Voltage
The electrical configuration can be adapted according to the destination country, local voltage, frequency, and project requirements.

Accepted Scrap Wires and Cables

The copper wire recycling machine is suitable for mixed scrap wires and cables with diameters from 1 to 200 mm. Typical feed materials include automotive electrical wires, motorcycle wiring, household copper wires, power cables, communication cables, signal cables, control cables, and other copper-containing insulated cables.

The machine is particularly suitable for mixed or short scrap wires that cannot be processed efficiently by conventional wire stripping equipment. Material composition, conductor size, insulation type, and contamination level should be evaluated before selecting the machine model.

Cables containing excessive iron, aluminum, plugs, connectors, oil, water, or other foreign materials may require pretreatment. Customers should provide representative material photos, videos, or samples before equipment configuration.

Product flow chart

The clean rate of separation is directly proportional to the diameter of a single copper wire. The larger the diameter of a single copper wire, the cleaner the separation between the copper wire and the plastic, while the smaller the diameter of a single copper wire, the worse the separation effect between the copper wire and the plastic
